Fringey's Top Five Facts For May

Come bathe in the the Font of Fringey's useless knowledge. Lap up our not so fascinating facts and you too can impress your friends and family with just how full of cr*p you are.






The brain of Neanderthal man was larger than that of modern man.

Cats can make over 1,000 different vocal sounds, dogs make only about 10.

Fringey DO NOT find The Mighty Boosh at all amusing.

The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time television were Fred and Wilma Flintstone.

The Statue of Liberty has a 4 and a half foot nose.

One of these facts is not true. Can you guess which one? A hearty handshake and much kudos to the first correct answer out of the mail bag.

fringey top five venues


  • Astoria - we've seen so many bands here - all on the cusp of hitting the big time!


  • Brixton Academy - the venue of choice for the bigger names in indie, dance and rock.


  • Barfly - looks like crap (see picture) but its the ultimate toilet venue for the discerning bottom rung band. See them here before anyone else has heard of them.


  • Scala - just the right size, good sound, a couple of good bars up the big red corridor of stairs. Tis a pity you have to go to Kings Cross to get to it!


  • Water Rats - battered, weathered and wee; the only thing wrong with it is the location - flippin' Kings Cross again!
